Wednesday Recipe: Lemonade


  • 2 lemons
  • 1 ½ pints boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ice cubes


  • Cut 3 thin slices of lemon, and reserve them for decorating.
  • Thinly peel the remaining lemons and place the rind in a bowl with the sugar, pour on the boiling water, and let stand until room temperature.
  • Add the lemon juice, strain and cool.
  • Serve in a pitcher, with the lemon slices and ice cubes.
