Wednesday Recipe: Pecan Pie


  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups pecans, chopped or whole
  • 1 9 inch pie crust, unbaked


  • Whisk sugar, syrup, eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt together in bowl. Pour into a 9 inch homemade crust. Once the filling has settled in the crust, carefully place pecan halves on the top of the pie in concentric circles.  
  • Place pie on a foil lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 400F degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350F degrees and cook approximately 30 – 40 minutes longer until filling is set in center. Let cool and serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
